Davissa..... it is literally our name
About David & Melissa
Photography has been part of our life together for more than twenty-five years, but our story began long before there was ever a business called Davissa.
We've been married for over thirty years, and throughout much of that time we've worked side by side creating photographs for businesses, organizations, publications, restaurants, community leaders, and people from every walk of life.
David's commercial photography experience spans more than two decades of dedicated commercial work and hundreds of assignments for businesses large and small. That experience shaped something we still believe today: good commercial photography begins with understanding the client. Before we decide what photographs to make, we want to understand who you are, what you do, and what those photographs need to accomplish.
We believe the best work begins with trust.
That's why our approach is personal, relaxed, and collaborative. Whether we're photographing food, a business owner, a team at work, or the story of an organization, we want the finished photographs to feel genuine to the people and business they represent.
The name Davissa was created by blending our names, David and Melissa. It seemed fitting because we've never approached photography as two separate photographers working side by side. We work together, combining two perspectives with one shared vision and a commitment to serving every client with care.
Outside of photography, we operate The Davissa Horse Refuge, a permanent home for retired, displaced, and abandoned horses. Life at the refuge has reinforced many of the same values we bring to our work: patience, stewardship, honesty, and the belief that what we care for deserves our very best.
After more than twenty-five years behind the camera, our philosophy remains remarkably simple:
Listen first. Understand the story. Then make photographs that matter.
Thank you for taking the time to get to know us. We'd love the opportunity to get to know you and your business.
